Hi Everyone! I have been learning some new tricks in the past week and a half! I am working hard on mastering the art of smiling and babble talking, and I am also getting really good at playing in my jungle gym. I usually greet my mommy and daddy with a couple smiles a day now :) They seem really excited whenever I decide to smile at them, so I am going to try and do it more. I’m not quite ready to smile for the camera yet though, I need to perfect my smile before I decide to debut it for the camera.
I finally got to meet my Great Grandma Churness last week. Grandpa & Grandma Churness came to visit me for a couple days and we had lot’s of fun hanging out going for walks and out to lunch, and going to visit Great Grandma Churness in Viroqua. She was very excited to finally meet me & we all had a fun day together.
I had two play dates this week, whew, do I have a busy social life or what! I had another fun play date with Cullen; I shared my jungle gym with him and we had so much fun kicking around to the lights and music together. My mommy & I also traveled to Tomah to visit Lynn and baby Avary. It was so fun to finally meet little Avary!
I’ve also just been hanging out spending lot’s of quality time at home with my mommy & daddy. Mommy & I have been enjoying our days together, and I love when daddy gets home from work to play with me. Last night Daddy got into my jungle gym with me to play – it was soooo much fun. Just in case you haven’t noticed, playing in my jungle gym is my favorite these days!
Well hopefully by next time I will have perfected my smile to be camera ready & I can show you all my pearly pink gums :)
Until next time…………..Baby Jack

I'm Getting SOOOO BIG!
Hello everyone! Sorry it has been nearly two weeks since my last blog, but we have been very busy as we approach me being 6 weeks old. I have grown a lot over the last two weeks, and I’m now tipping the scales at over 11 lbs! I love to eat:) I have become quite the social butterfly, attending many events and parties over the last two weeks. My parent’s good friends, Brian & Andrea, had their annual Fukuda Freedom Festival two weekends ago, so we got an early start on our 4th of July celebrating. I got my first experience socializing & mingling with a crowd and trying to find dad some business. Although I didn’t get daddy any new business, he said it was good that I made some new contacts. I met my new buddy Maxx, hopefully he will be a fellow trouble maker with me down the road:) Everyone at the party was very nice and it is true what mommy & daddy say, they have great friends. The only bummer about the night was that mom & dad gave me an early curfew, so I couldn’t stay at the party as long as I would’ve liked. Luckily cousin Jenny was here visiting from the Twin Cities, so she took me home in time for my curfew, and was my first official babysitter. I figured it was time mommy and daddy had a night out on their own. I guess mommy was really looking forward to having a night out (don’t know what that really means) since it had been over 10 months. They had fun, but they missed me, and I missed them too. The next day Jenny’s husband, Chris, came to visit us too & I got to ride on my first motorcycle! It was fancy, but mommy said it might be the first and last time since she worries so much about me. All in all it was a great weekend, thank you Jenny for taking such good care of me as my first babysitter!
Last week, I also got to meet my auntie Penni and cousin Nicky. They stayed with us on their way to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It was nice to finally meet them. (We are praying for Penni each day and hope she continues to get better.) They were my second babysitters, allowing mommy and daddy the opportunity to go on a date, which I guess they are going to do once a week, so if you are interested in babysitting me let my mommy and daddy know. Just remember my daddy is cheap, so don’t expect to get paid much, but I will give you a smile :)
Last week ended with me going to my first softball game to watch my daddy, who temporarily came out of retirement to help the Monkey’s. There was a foul ball that was hit close to me and I would have caught it but my mommy forgot my glove :( After watching daddy play (who somehow managed to find his way on base several times) I now know why mommy wasn’t very happy to hear he wanted to play again; he could barely move during and after the game due to his sore back. I just hope he doesn’t play anymore and get more seriously hurt, since I really want him to play ball with me when I get bigger.
For my first 4th of July, we went to our parents other good friends, Randy & Kelly’s downtown roof top to watch the fireworks. It was pretty neat, and got to meet Heavy D (Drew), who is a year and a half older than me, and could be another fellow trouble maker down the road :) In my short lifetime I have seen fireworks three times now, and they don’t scare me a bit. Also to celebrate the 4th, we went to Riverfest & I helped daddy sell raffle tickets for the Children’s Museum. People had a hard time saying no to me; in fact I was so good they put me the TV-19 news that night. Mommy is now a little concerned about the paparazzi following me, but I told her not to worry since I won’t let the fame change me.
The last thing I should fill you in on, to get everyone up to speed, is that I had tears when I cried for the first time yesterday. Mommy got sad, but I told her it is a sign that I’m getting bigger. For some reason my mommy wants me to stay a little baby forever but daddy has other plans?? He thinks I’m going to be playing for the Brewers by the time I’m 13! He may be bit of a dreamer, but we love watching the Brewer games together and we hope that they can keep their momentum going. I am also happy to report that I heard mommy say the other day that she feels like she's back to her normal self again. She went throught a lot to bring me into this world and I appreciate everything she's done for me! Well, it is time for me to start the cycle over: eat, poop, sleep, pee, play for a bit, repeat, so I better get going for now!
Love, Baby Jack
P.S. I’m working on thank you's for all the nice gifts I have received so they should be done soon….I guess I may have some of my mom’s slow genes

Happy 1 Month Birthday Little Jack!
Peaceful little sleepyhead!
Happy baby boy!
Pose for the camera!
Little Jack is so busy growing big and strong that he has turned the blogging over to mom this time (so prepare yourself for some cheesiness), but don't worry fans, he'll be back again :) We can hardly believe that our little buddy is one month old today! In some ways it seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital, but in others it's hard to remember life before Jack. It's hard to fully understand parenthood until you actually become one yourself. You have a preconceived notion of what it will be like, but once you have a child you realize that you were actually pretty clueless as to what it's all about. And believe me, there are still things we are pretty clueless about! Despite being sleep deprived for a while and all of a sudden having this tiny person that requires your care 24/7, it's still been the most amazing experience of our life. We are so lucky to have a happy healthy little boy in our life. Little Jack has been a good little sleeper and usually only fusses when mom is running a few minutes late (imagine that!) for a feeding. He now weighs in at a healthy 9lbs 10oz, which is great, because as some of you know it was a little slow going with the weight gain at first. We count our blessings every day to have such a wonderful new addition to our little family.

Roadtrip!
Well everyone, I’ve made it another week. That makes four big ones! It was a milestone week for me -mommy and daddy took me on my first road trip - yeah! We traveled to Durand to stay with Grandma & Grandpa Churness. Mommy had a fun time showing me where she grew up, as she calls it “the big bubbling metropolis of Durand”. My mommy can be pretty goofy sometimes. I was able to spend lots of quality time with Grandpa & Grandma, and Uncle Loren & Auntie Corinne. We had fun taking walks and playing in their big yard, and us men hung out and watched the Brewers of course. We also traveled to Menomonie so my Great Grandma Ruth could meet me. I think she enjoyed holding me quite a bit!
I had so many new faces to look at this week, my Great Uncles & Great Aunties, and my mommy’s cousins came to meet me. Then when we got home, my Great Grandma & Grandpa Anderson also came to meet me! Whew, it was a whirlwind weekend with so many new faces for me to stare at.
Thanks to Grandma Mott & Auntie Corinne for taking care of me at night so mommy and daddy could get two full night’s sleep!!! They’ve been taking such good care of me; they got some much deserved rest. Thanks to everyone for all the nice gifts that have been rolling in – mommy & daddy say I’m one spoiled little boy! I’m glad I got to meet more of my family this week – it was nice to meet you everyone - aren’t I a polite little boy already :)
Until next time, Baby Jack

A Week of Firsts
Well everyone, it’s been another successful week for me, mommy & daddy, and for those of you counting that makes me three weeks old today! It's been a fun week filled of many firsts for me. I attended my first wedding, which I was a good little boy for. I slept through most of it, but I do remember being very popular since I was the youngest guest in attendance. Unfortunately for me there weren’t any women there my age to hit on, but at least I still got a lot of attention from other wedding guests. I really am a little charmer, just like daddy says!
I also attended my first baseball game this week. Again, I slept through most of this, but I did catch some key plays in the seventh inning. Daddy wanted to give me my first brat & beer at the game, but mommy put her foot down and said we’ll have to wait until next summer for that. I guess I had enough firsts for one week anyway.
The most important first I had this week, however, was celebrating my daddy’s first Father’s Day! We had a nice relaxing day at home, watched lot's of sports, took a walk together and I gave daddy his first ever Father’s day gift. I am sooooooooooo lucky to have the best daddy in the whole wide world. He is always telling me how much he loves me and how much he misses me while he’s at work. He's constantly worrying about mommy & me, so I know how much he cares about us. Everyone says my daddy is one proud papa, and I can tell he is too. Mommy & I are so lucky to have him!
Happy father’s day to you Grandpa Churness, Grandpa Vogel & Grandpa Mott. I love you and miss you!
Until next week………
