Jack & Mommy's Night Out

While it's a common occurrence in our household for Jack & Daddy to have fun little outings together......since Stella's arrival it had been awhile since just Jack and I had been able to hang out just the two of us, so we got two tickets to Sesame Street Live (second row!) Jack and I had a blast, we broke all the rules that evening, snacking on cotton candy and M&M's, and staying up until 9pm! Jack really enjoyed the show and even got to high five Burt. Every time Elmo, Cookie, Big Bird or Ernie would go backstage he would ask "Ernie, where are you?"......"Big Bird, where are you?" and then of course he was ecstatic when they would return to the stage. It was priceless watching Jack's excitement, it was a great Mother and Son night out!

Stella turned two months last week and she's growing like a weed! She now weighs 11lbs and measures 22in long. Along with smiling and cooing, she now can add batting at her toys to her repertoire. She's enjoying growing into more of her new wardrobe every day, and she's also discovered accessories can make an outfit :)

This is how we found Jack sleeping the other night...........interesting choice with the blanket usage I'd say......and just in case your wondering no, Jack is not potty trained yet, he has a diaper on under those underwear :)

Playdate Central

Coos and Smiles & Everything Nice

Stella has been gracing us with her beautiful smiles and coos now for the past couple of weeks, and even though it has only been two years since Jack was this age, I had already forgotten the lengths a parent (at least Dennis & I) will go to get your baby to smile, hence how ridiculous I sound on the videos here :) It's just the most precious thing though to watch how happy she is. Stella now weighs in at 10lbs, respectively & we're starting to form somewhat of a schedule with her, which is nice. I'm starting to get a little braver with taking both kids out & about by myself & the "good mom days" are starting to outweigh the "bad mom days." Our evenings with Dennis home have also formed into our new normal, so I think we're over the hump now. Stella and I took a little roadtrip last weekend.....we traveled to Minneapolis to visit Auntie Corinne, attend a party for my dear friends Jami & Jake, and to meet Stella's second cousin Braden - Jenny & Chris' new baby boy. (we may have snuck a little shopping in there too!) We made our way over my parents on our way home and spent a fun girls day with Grandma. It was the first of what I'm sure will be many fun filled mother daughter weekends.

I'm 30

Well I officially joined the 30 and over club on Monday. Dennis was so kind to arrange dinner with friends for the evening (he even took care of arranging babysitters!) He spoiled me with gifts like usual too, but I think my favorite gift was from Jack: two second row tickets to Sesame Street Live wrapped in a monster truck card :)
The twenties have been good to me, it's been a decade full of blessings for sure - here's to an even better one to come!

Adult Time

Dennis & I had our first outing since Stella's arrival, we went to see Jack Johnson perform in Somerset. We took a limo and had a great time en route with the Swanson's and the Parke's. It was an outdoor event and the weather was perfect, a great summer evening with good music and good friends.
