Snowed In

Unfortunatley we had to postpone our travel plans for the holidays today due to bad weather....that darn mother nature! Although, a major bummer that we were unable to get together for a big family gathering in the Twin Cities today as planned, we could either be upset & disappointed about it all day or make the best of being snowed in....we chose the later. Jack had his first sled ride and first real exposure with playing in the snow. I think he liked the snow, but those pesky mittens got in the way of really checking it out to his liking (aka. putting it in his mouth.) We called him our little marshmellow man all bundled up in his white snowsuit (which he's...... shocker, already outgrowing!) After our little outdoor adventure, we enjoyed a fun day hanging out inside keeping warm, followed by a delicious dinner of italian take out (and delicious wine for mommy :) We wrapped up the evening with Jack's first present opening experience! He loved the wrapping paper and bows... because you know they are far more interesting than the presents them themselves, lol :)

We wish everyone safe travels (or happy snow days!) over the holidays, and hopefully better weather conditions will be upon us soon!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree…….

Hello everyone, it has been a while since I have had time to update the blog, so for that I apologize. Mommy, daddy and I have been really busy since Thanksgiving, getting everything ready for Christmas. I don’t know much about this Christmas thing but I’m liking it so far, since I love all the lights and presents (this St. Nick dude came last weekend and gave me some cool stuff.) It all started the Sunday after Thanksgiving when Mommy wanted to go to a tree farm and get a tree while this funny white stuff was falling out of the sky, however, since daddy said I wouldn’t fully appreciate going out in the woods and in the interest of time, we went to the “Menards Tree Farm” instead. As I sat in the cart, Mommy and Daddy narrowed it down to two beautiful trees and I made the final decision. At the time, I still didn’t know what we were going to do with this tree. For some reason, (which I still haven’t figured out why) we put the tree on top of daddy’s truck and then brought it in our living room??? The next day we put a bunch of cool lights and decorations on it, and now I love to stare at it. However, I’m still puzzled why this tree is in our living room, so if you have any insight on this please let me know! Also, if you have never experienced Rotary Lights you must since the lights are amazing, and I got to see Santa and all his reindeer....... very cool!

I continue to get bigger each day, am talking more and am on my best behavior (like always) since I have been told this Santa guy is keeping a close eye on all the little boys and girls this time of year. Even if I don’t get anything for Christmas though, that is ok, since like Daddy says we already have enough, and there are a lot of other people out there that are not as fortunate. So me & Daddy & Mommy ask that you don’t forget about the less fortunate during the holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Love, Jack

P.S. My Christmas card should be arriving soon :)

Fun in the johnny jumper

Hi everyone! Here are some pictures of the latest happenings of me at home. My mom & dad have started feeding me all this funny tasting orange stuff.....I guess they're called carrots and sweet potatoes. I hear next I'll be trying something green called peas....not too sure about that, but I'll keep you posted. I've sure been enjoying the carrots and sweet potatoes so far. I've also been having a lot of fun in my johnny jumper, I've been working so hard jumping and jumping to become a strong boy. Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving, I had a great time with my family....we have so much to be thankful for!

Officially a Sitter

Jack can officially sit on his own now! Here's a few videos of Jack showing off his new skills.

Talking & Sitting

Jack is at such a fun stage right now.....he's really starting to change and become a little person more and more each day. We've recently started to notice Jack using more syllables amongst his babbling. We're starting to be able to hear what his little voice is going to sound like....so much fun! He's also been getting better at sitting, he leans forward quite a bit to avoid toppling over, but he's starting to sit a little more upright for longer periods of time before falling over. He's even been trying to lift his arms up while sitting the last couple of days, so we're thinking not too long after his 6 month b-day (Thanksgiving day) he'll be sitting like a pro :) The last new update is Jack's new found fascination with pounding on everything, whether is be the table, his high chair or the floor....maybe it's a boy thing? Here are a few videos of the "pounding" & "talking", enjoy!

The Baptism November 9th, 2008

Hi everyone!

Opening presents

The wrapping paper was my favorite.

The special cake Mommy baked for me.

Last Sunday my family & I had a great time getting together for my Baptism. I was a good little boy during church, and I love water, so I thought the baptism itself was pretty cool. I even made the congregation laugh by pulling off the Pastor's microphone and playing with it. I thought it was just another toy for me to play with! Thanks to my godparents Brian & Andrea for being there to sponsor me, and thanks to all my Grandparents, Aunties & Uncles for being there too. It was a very fun and memorable day.

Milestones, Milestones, Milestones

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been so long since I've written to you, I've been a very busy boy checking some milestones off the list. For starters I now have two teeth. After a couple months of heavy drooling, my two bottom teeth finally decided to poke through last week. My mom's been having fun showing off my new teeth to everyone. Also, I'm now semi-mobile, I can scoot and roll my way around. My mommy & daddy have to keep a close eye on me, sometimes when they leave the room I'm not in the same place they left me when they return! Last new update is that I'm eating this rice cereal stuff now and I use this weird thing called a spoon. It's a lot different than my bottle, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. It's really messy though!

This week I celebrated my first Halloween and I dressed up as my favorite animal, a monkey :) My mom & dad took me trick or treating and we had so much fun. I had my first sleepover at Grandma & Grandpa Churness' house this weekend too. It was mommy & I's first night apart, we missed each other, but we both had fun. Mommy & Daddy had a Halloween party with their friends while I had a fun time with Grandma & Grandpa.

Hope everyone had a good Halloween. I get baptised next Sunday, so I'll be back next week to update you.

That's all for now,
Love, Jack
