Little Performers

A couple highlights of our December holiday season were watching Jack's school Christmas concert and Stella's first dance recital.  It proved to be both cute and comical to see small children perform on a stage.

Playin' in the Kitchen

We have our Christmas lights twinkling, our carols blasting, our cozy cozy slippers on, and our holiday goodies baking over here.  Who needs to go out in these frigid temps....online Christmas shopping, yes please!  Baking treats with my kiddos, yes please.  And cuddling up on the couch to watch Christmas movies, definitely!

2 weeks 'til Christmas

So I must echo many of you out there when I say the spacing between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year sucks.  I am struggling to get all of our gifts wrapped and our cookies baked, favorite holiday movie nights accomplished.......the list goes on.  The funny thing is that all this stuff really isn't what Christmas is all about.  I was reminded of this when I asked Jack the other day what his favorite thing about Christmas was.  His answer, "Four things mom, the lights, presents, playing in the snow and it's Jesus birthday,"  so proud of him for including his last reason.  In this moment I received a great reminder from my son how simple it really is.  Now is the time to enjoy this two beautiful kids that are full of Christmas magic and wonder.

here they are post Disney musical show.
Cinderella and King Mickey

and here are the pictures from Adventures at the Tree Farm 2013

here's to remembering the reason for the season.  Happy hump day friends!

Thanksgiving 2013

Our Thanksgiving was a bit plagued with sickness this year......especially for poor Uncle Loren.  The only photo I have from actual Thanksgiving is this one below.  We did still manage to have some fun on our trip back home.

we helped Grandpa celebrate his birthday.

Stella make a "thanksgiving party" of her own

it's always a bit nostalgic watching the kids play with toys I remember from my childhood

and we visiting a tree farm to help Grandpa & Grandma pick out the perfect tree.

Jack is getting close to 4 feet tall - crazy!
Miss Stella is a little over 3 feet

Santa and Mrs. Clause were there.  Jack asked for a dinosaur race track, and Stella asked for........wait for it.......a yoga mat, yes a yoga mat of her own was her one request to the man in red

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  December and Christmas....full speed ahead, it will be here before we know it!  Bring on the snow mother nature, we want a white Christmas!
