Two Weeks Down in the Records
Hello everyone, I have successfully made it two weeks (so have mommy and daddy) and I’m doing great! The weather hasn’t been the greatest (my little heart goes out to all the people affected by the flooding down south) last week so mommy and I haven’t been able to take as many walks as I would have liked, but it has allowed me to follow the Brewers play by play with daddy. Boy, the Brewers are a frustrating team to watch! Daddy and I believe Ned Yost is the worse manager in baseball and could cost them a pennant. Mommy gets mad at us when we start yelling at the TV, so for everyone’s sake I hope they fire Yost soon and get more consistent.
My big excitement for the week was that I had my first play date with my buddy Cullen. We didn’t do a whole lot except for a lot of farting and burping, but we have started to discuss the future trouble we are going to get into. Mommy and Lisa thought we were just lying down and napping, but we are one step ahead of our mommy’s!
My Grandma and Grandpa Vogel and Auntie Heather came here to visit me and it was nice to finally meet them. Grandpa was a little rusty at holding a little person like me so I cried when he initially held me but he eventually got better over the weekend and I was able to sleep in his arms. We weren’t able to do much due to the rain, however, Daddy and Grandpa went golfing on Saturday morning and they wanted to take me, but Mommy wouldn’t let me so I was a little bummed. It started pouring rain on hole number 6 though, so it was good I wasn’t with them. I guess Mommy knows best. Mommy says she is just looking out for me and I know she loves me a lot since when I lost my umbilical cord this week she got very emotional and was equally sad when she left me for the first time to run to the store. She is a great Mommy and is doing a wonderful job taking care of me!
Since my Mommy and Daddy have been so good to me, I decided to start sleeping at 6+ hours at a time at night. This has made them very happy, especially Daddy, since he gets a little cranky if he has to go to work tired. He is happy to no longer have to sleep on the bathroom floor (bath tub running) with me. Despite me being such an Angel, my Grandma Churness has come and stayed with us all week to help around the house. Daddy is trying to get her to quit her teaching job to be our Nanny but Daddy is unwilling to pay her enough. My Daddy can be a little tight with money, so I don’t know if they will come to terms :(
It has been a great two weeks, and thanks again for all the gifts and the being such great friends to me and my Mommy and Daddy. I’m pretty excited about this weekend since I will be going to my first Loggers game and my first Wedding. I think I’m going to be pretty exhausted by Sunday! I will report next week on how it goes and if I will be allowed to go to other events like this in the future :)

Happy 1 Week Birthday!
Hi everyone, I'm back and now a whole week old. I've been having a great time at home with mommy and daddy. I've mastered all kinds of new tricks this week, burping, farting, filling my diaper, and nursing to name a few. I had my first trip to the Doctor and to Target. Mommy was happy I liked my trip to Target because she told me we'd be making many more outings there. Grandma Churness came again to visit me, and to help mommy and daddy. She was a big help, she brought us lot's of nummy food and washed all my dirty clothes. Mommy says it's amazing how someone as little as me can create so much laundry. Mommy & daddy gave me my first bath at home, and daddy said I was a good little boy for the whole thing. I already know how to work my parents.
I also got to meet Grandma & Grandpa Mott for the first time. They had a fun time meeting me and spending quality time with me over the weekend. I went on my first stroller ride with mommy and both my Grandma's, it was a lot of fun & with my hot rod stroller I was attracting the babes like crazy! Grandma Mott was very sad when they had to leave and go back to Manitowoc - I can't say I blame her because I am quite the little charmer :)
Sadly, my daddy had to return to work this week. He says someone needs to "bring home the bacon." My daddy sure does have some funny sayings. He still sneaks home at lunch to see me and mommy though :) In celebration of my one week birthday yesterday, I had my first trip to Daddy's bank. Daddy and I read the Wallstreet Jounal and he showed me how to use a calculator. Daddy says I'm quite advanced for my age. Then Auntie Corinne came to visit me and to help mommy since daddy is busy "bringing home the bacon." We had another fun trip to Target, where I was again on my best behavior.
All in all it's been a good first week for me and my mommy and daddy. We're one little happy family as mommy says. Thanks to everyone who has come to meet me and brought me all the cool gifts, I see what my mommy and daddy were talking about when they were telling me what great friends & family we have. I can't wait for the adventures in store for me in my second week of life!
P.S. don't worry, I will get on my mommy to post my first week slideshow on here very soon!!!

Look World I'm Here
Hello world! baby Jack here, I finally arrived at 9:03 on Tuesday morning. Here's the story of how I entered the world: So my buddy, Cullen, was over with his parents (Dirk & Lisa) on Memorial Day for a grill out and I was telling him about the sweet deal my mom had offered me. She told me that if I came by Tuesday I would get a free pass out of my first grounding. So after some discussion with Cullen I decided to take my mom up on her deal. I broke my mom's water at 5:45pm, just as dad had thrown the burgers and brats on the grill. I was so forceful that it created a lake in our house! Dad kind of freaked out and was very glad that Dirk, Lisa, Dustin & Missy were there to help and clean up as mommy & daddy got ready to go to the hospital. Despite daddy being mister planner and on top of things, he forgot several things at the house:) We arrived at the hospital at about 6:45pm and nothing major started happening until 11:45pm when I realized I better speed things up. Mommy's pain picked up through the night and daddy spent the night consoling her so neither of them got any sleep. At about 5:30am I started to make my last descent but I made the mistake of putting my arm around my neck (nobody knew this until I came out) so that combined with my big head made it really difficult for mommy. It got kind of scary for a while since I was stuck, mommy was in a lot of pain, and daddy was getting a little worried since he new something wasn't right when many other doctors and nurses had to come in the room. However, daddy stayed strong and only had to sit down once and was able to assist mom in getting me out @ 9:03am. The doctors and staff were worried about me and mommy at first, but we are both going to be fine:) As for Dad, he said it was one of the most stressful things he has ever gone through and said like he felt like he had just gotten back from a weekend trip to Vegas (not really sure what the means.) I hope mommy can forgive me for making the mistake of having my arm around my neck as I was delivered. She keeps telling me I'm worth all the pain, so I think everything is going to be alright!
As for the deal my mom made with me about getting out of my first grounding, we are still in discussions to see if I get the free pass since I technically came 3 minutes after her shift would have started on Tuesday. So if you talk to her put a good word in for me.
Since Tuesday I have had many tests and have been poked and prodded a lot. All the nurses and doctors tell mommy and daddy that everything has checked out great and I am a healthy & handsome little boy! I keep hearing that I'm going to be a chick magnet and a few of the nurses have offered their phone number to me, but my mom said I am too young to be getting phone numbers so I guess I need to wait another year:( I have met a lot of new people and have gotten many great gifts (THANK YOU!) Thanks to everyone for being so wonderful to me and my parents, and I look forward to meeting more of you soon. Oh yeah, and Daddy told me to say that if you don't have an account at Citizens State Bank you better get down there and open one or you can't meet me. Mommy thinks Daddy is a bit crazy some times, but I love them both just the way they are. Thanks again for everything!
Love, Jack
P.S. I love spending time with my mommy & daddy so much, that we stayed up all last night hanging out, so sorry it took me so long to post this on our blog!

37 Weeks 5 Days and Counting
Dennis & I are definitely counting down the days until little Jack arrives, of course it would be easier to do so if we knew exactly when he was planning on arriving. We're ready whenever he is!!! Dennis has been saying throughout my whole pregnancy that Jack will be born on May 25th. I have been telling him not to get my hopes up of going early, because he is going to have to deal with a very disappointed, uncomfortable, pregnant wife if his prediction doesn't turn out to be right :) We'll keep you all posted!
