Explore Minnesota......or Something Like That

I had an some extended days off due the 4th landing on a Thurs this year, so I decided it was the perfect time to take a little road trip with the kids and get out of town for a bit.  We took over Auntie Corinne's condo with all of our stuff and settled in with her for a couple of days.  We visited the MN Zoo and got to hang out with cousin Braden for the day, and feed the giraffes while there.  Stella was into the giraffe feeding, but Jack hung back and watched......can't say I blame him, those long black tongues were a little intimidating.  We spent one evening around Centennial Lakes area and let the kids run around and took a paddle boat ride.  The kids got to celebrate their birthdays again.....this time with Corinne.  We visited Great Uncle Dave, where the kids make homemade ice cream, got to feed his goldfish, and Jack got to play with his "super cool" old toys. They sure don't make toys (or anything these days) like they used to, these are toys from when my Uncle Dave was a child and are still in working order, and Jack loves them!

Thanks family for your company and hospitality - the kids and I had a great mini-vacation in MN.......and we got home just in time to catch some 4th of July fireworks with Daddy, all three of us were happy to be reunited with him!

Dog Days of Summer

 We have been taking full advantage of our Wisconsin summer, plenty of ice cream, fresh fruit and veggies, water activities galore, and just being outside as much as possible!  We have close to half of our annual "summer bucket list" items crossed off & there's still plenty more fun to be had!  What have you been doing to enjoy summer - we'd love to hear from you in the comments!

Popsicle Party

This year it was a popsicle/summer fun birthday party for Stella.  We colored beach balls, played limbo and Stella's favorite, ring around the rosie.  We enjoyed a lunch of mac n' cheese and chicken nuggets (Stella's choices) and of course cake.  The weather cooperated so we were able to get out the suits and sprinkler and top it off with some water fun!

Happy Birthday America

We had an absolutely perfect 4th of July this year filled with family, friends and fireworks......what it's all about right?!  Hope you had great holiday too!

Our kiddos our hard at work each day.......playing, exploring, learning, finding out what they are passionate about.  This spring Jack requested soccer again, and Stella did another dance session. Summer brings t-ball for the Jack man and I convinced Stella to try "nastics" this time.  It's all about keeping it fun at this age and introducing them them to a variety of activities to see what jives with their little personalities.  Our local YMCA has perfect 6 week sessions that work out great in accomplishing this.  How much fun it is to watch them learn and grow.

Stella was so proud of this moment, right after I took this picture she looked up at us with the biggest most proud smile & of course continued to talk about her "swinging" all day long :)
